Job summary

Chandler USD 80 CHANDLER HIGH SCHOOL in Chandler, Arizona is seeking an Athletic Coach - Softball Assistant Coach to lead practices, teach fundamentals, and guide student-athletes in developing skills and sportsmanship.

The role reports to the Athletic Director, works with the athletic staff, and helps manage equipment, records, and documentation while upholding district policies and safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Valid Arizona Driver’s License.
  • DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED Certification.
  • NFHS Course Certificates: Bullying, Hazing and Inappropriate Behaviors.
  • NFHS Course Certificates: Concussion in Sports.
  • NFHS Course Certificates: First Aid, Health and Safety.
  • NFHS Course Certificates: Fundamentals of Coaching.
  • NFHS Course Certificates: Heat Illness Prevention.
  • Additional course certifications as required by sport type.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct practices that develop individual and team athletic skills.
  • Teach sport-specific fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
  • Promote student-athlete growth, sportsmanship, and positive character.
  • Supervise and manage student-athletes during practices, competitions, and team activities.
  • Prepare teams for competitions and coach during games with professionalism.
  • Prioritize athlete safety and follow all injury prevention and emergency protocols.
  • Establish and enforce team expectations aligned with school and district policies.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, administrators, and athletic staff.
  • Assist with program administration, including equipment, records, and required documentation.
  • Comply with all school, district, and athletic association rules and professional standards
