Job summary

Flying Horse Resort & Club in Colorado Springs is seeking a hands-on Athletic Club Manager to oversee daily operations, hire and train staff, and drive exceptional guest experiences. You will supervise multiple departments, establish standards, and ensure smooth service while helping meet budgetary goals.

You will lead by example, coordinate with the Club Director, and adapt to a dynamic hospitality environment, including weekends and holidays when occupancy is high.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College degree or related experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of full-time supervisory experience.
• At least five years in a customer service setting.
• Proficient with MS Office and Google Docs.
• Familiarity with Jonas POS for charging preferred.
• Must be able to lift and move 30 lbs., 30% of the time.
• Must be able to communicate in English.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is responsible for the successful daily oversight of all assigned areas at The Athletic Club. This position will hire and train staff in these areas so that our Club Members and guests have consistent service that exceeds their expectations. This person will work as "manager on duty" for the Athletic Club providing the highest level of professionalism fostering positive interactions with Members and staff while ensuring systems are consistent and tasks are completed efficiently.

• Provide leadership for assigned Athletic Club Departments
• Provide and establish daily supervision of all assigned Departments
• Create standardized procedures and policies for the service staff
• Facilitate and attend meetings that are necessary for the growth of the department and resort
• Conduct regular walk-throughs to ensure cleanliness, organization, safety and productivity of all employees
• Create measurable goals for assigned service staff
• Hold staff accountable for meeting agreed upon goals through consistent measures for successful outcomes
• Communicate the rules of the club to the Athletic Club team, Members and guests
• Hire staff and provide excellent training in a variety of methods including visual, hands on and active on going coaching
• Seek to improve systems in all Departments striving for success related to operations and overall a positive experience for Club Members and Guests
• Create an environment that is productive, professional and enjoyable for the staff
• Create and manage labor of assigned areas to include proper coverage and scheduling of staff
• Ensure the financial goals of the department are met according to budget
• Create/Assist/Promote Holiday events at the Club
• Handle conflict as the need arises in a calm, professional manner
• Be available to oversee operations from open to close with a flexible schedule to ensure coverage including days, evenings and weekends as needed
• Work closely with the Athletic Club Director to assist in all areas
• Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Club & Spa Director

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Have a high school degree or the equivalent
• College degree or industry experience preferred
• Must have 2 plus years of full time supervisory experience
• Have at least five years of experience in a customer service setting
• Have the ability to operate a computer successfully to include excel, word and google docs.
• Familiarity of POS system Jonas for charging is preferred.
• Must have the ability to lift and move 30 lbs., 30% of the time
• Must be able to communicate in English
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
• Must have flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed based off of high occupancy of the Athletic Club

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

Must possess customer service skills and strong oral communication skills. Competency in dealing with Club Members and fellow employees under circumstances requiring tact and diplomacy. Must possess the ability to work effectively under time deadlines.
