Job summary

Marquette University invites applications for an Assistant Director, Outreach & Athlete Ministry. This 12-month, full-time role oversees Campus Ministry outreach for student-athletes and reports to the Director of Campus Ministry.

The successful candidate will build faith formation programs, coordinate retreats, and collaborate with Athletics and Student-Athlete Well-Being, while managing budgets and scheduling. Evening/weekend work and domestic travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Theology or related field.
• Current valid driver’s license.
• Three years' experience in campus ministry or related field.
• Familiarity with Ignatian Spirituality.
• Familiarity with Catholic Social Teaching.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Evening/weekend availability and on-call duties; domestic travel for athletics events.

Responsibilities

• Pastoral Outreach and Faith Formation to Student-Athletes: build relationships with staff and student-athletes; develop formation programs and retreats; attend athletic events; convene meetings with athletics chaplains; support and partner with Director of Mental Health & Performance; manage program budget.
• Pastoral Care and Ministry of Presence to Students: provide spiritual direction and pastoral counseling; support campus liturgies; participate in pilgrimages and service trips; act as liaison with ROTC; maintain ministry presence across student communities.
• Team participation and reporting: participate in meetings; prepare annual report; maintain files; be available for counseling, hospital ministry and crisis situations; participate in emergency phone schedule.
• Administer and coordinate Campus Ministry vans, including safety training and certifications for drivers.
