Job summary

Medix is seeking a hands-on Data Analyst to support an EHR transition and reporting modernization initiative. This 12+ month contract role is 100% remote with CST hours, focusing on migrating, rebuilding, and maintaining critical reporting assets as data moves from a legacy EHR to a new system.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in data analytics, strong SQL and Power BI skills, and comfort with healthcare data and data modeling.

Data Analyst — EHR Transition & Reporting

12+ Month Contract

We’re seeking a hands-on Data Analyst to support a major EHR transition and reporting modernization initiative. This is an execution-focused contract role centered on migrating, rebuilding, consolidating, and maintaining critical reporting assets as data transitions from a legacy EHR platform to a new system.

The ideal candidate is highly skilled in SQL, Power BI, data modeling, and healthcare data, and is comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities and requirements can evolve.

What You’ll Do

• Report Migration & Rebuild: Migrate, rebuild, re-source, and maintain existing reports and dashboards as legacy EHR data transitions to a new source system.
• Parallel-Run Reporting: Build and reconcile reports running concurrently against legacy and new EHR data pipelines. Investigate discrepancies and partner with Data Engineering on resolution.
• Blended Data Implementation: Develop reporting solutions that combine legacy and new EHR data, including longitudinal reporting and KPIs spanning the transition period.
• SQL & Data Warehouse Development: Write and optimize complex SQL queries against enterprise data warehouse environments and translate business requirements into reliable, well-documented data pulls.
• Report Inventory & Consolidation: Identify redundant reporting logic, overlapping dashboards, and opportunities to consolidate reporting assets across teams.
• Cross-Team Support: Provide hands-on reporting, refresh, remediation, and migration support to functional analytics teams throughout the transition.
• Documentation & Handover: Document report logic, data lineage, source mappings, assumptions, and known limitations, ensuring a clean transition to ongoing analytics teams.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, business analytics, technical, or related discipline — or equivalent technical experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Analyst, BI Developer, Analytics Engineer, or similar role.
• Strong SQL skills, including experience writing and optimizing complex queries against cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or equivalent.
• Strong Power BI experience, including semantic models, data modeling, DAX, datasets, reports, dashboards, and workspace governance.
• Experience working with healthcare data, including EHR, claims, or other healthcare-related datasets.
• Strong understanding of data modeling fundamentals, including star schema and dimensional modeling.
• Ability to translate business requirements into reliable data structures and reporting solutions.
• Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills, with a strong focus on clean, maintainable, and transferable work.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience migrating, rebuilding, or consolidating reports and dashboards during a system, data warehouse, or BI migration.
• Experience with athenahealth or similar EHR platforms.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Fabric Data Warehouse, data flows, or related capabilities.
• Experience supporting reporting continuity during large-scale technology or data migrations.
• Contract: 12 months
• Schedule: Full-time, approximately 30-40 hours/week
