Job summary

Beatitudes Campus is seeking a compassionate Home Companion to assist seniors with daily living activities and instrumental tasks, while maintaining a safe, clean environment in Phoenix, AZ.

You will support clients with bathing, grooming, meal prep, light housekeeping, and provide transportation as needed, documenting observations and following care plans. CPR/First Aid and fingerprint clearance are required or obtainable, with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist the client with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, and lifting up to 25lbs.
• Assist with instrumental activities of daily living such as light housekeeping, meal prep, and maintaining a safe environment; escort to appointments and errands; may drive client’s or own vehicle.
• Perform delegated tasks as instructed by supervisor.
• Observe and report client’s condition and safety hazards to supervisor and office team promptly.
• Document observations and activities accurately and timely; maintain the Home Companion logbook after every shift.
• Provide records to keep employee information and certifications current; protect client health information per HIPAA and laws.

• Assist client with instrumental activities of daily living such as light housekeeping, pet care, meal prep and maintaining a clean, safe environment. Also assist with feeding as indicated. Escort clients to and from appointments, errands and activities. May drive own car or client’s car.
• Perform delegated tasks as instructed by supervisor.
• Observes and reports client’s condition and safety hazards to supervisor and office team in a timely manner.
• Documents observations and activities in an accurate, complete and timely manner.
• Possesses organizational skills necessary to carry out visit/shift and to complete assigned tasks.
• Completes the Home Companion logbook after every shift to keep client status and care plan information current.
• Provides documents to keep employee information and certifications current.
• Protects client health information according to HIPPA and federal and state law and regulations.
• Maintains professional appearances, attitude and demeanor while on duty.
• Performs other miscellaneous tasks, which would normally be required of a non-medical caregiver.
• Escorts clients to and from appointments, errands and activities. May drive own vehicle or client’s vehicle.
• Other duties as assigned.
