Job summary

AdventHealth in Daytona Beach is seeking a Registered Nurse for PRN scheduling to support perioperative and post-anesthesia care needs. The role involves direct patient assessment, teaching families, and coordinating with the surgical team.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license with BLS, has 1+ year of hospital experience, and can work irregular hours including call shifts. Basic computer skills and familiarity with Word are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• RN license required and BLS CPR certified.
• One year clinical hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with medical staff to ensure patient care continuity.
• Assess patients on return to unit for phase II recovery per unit protocols.
• Provide postoperative education and discharge instructions to patients and families.
• Discharge patients following established criteria.
• Demonstrate clinical competence in assessment and reassessment.

Job Description:

• PRN Schedule: 7:30am - 4:00pm, 1 - 2 days per week
• Call 3 Weekends per year
• Communicates with medical staff and ancillary services to ensure appropriate continuum of patient care.
• Assesses patients immediately upon return to the unit for phase II recovery according to unit protocols.
• Provides patients and families with post-operative educational information and discharge instructions.
• Discharges patients following established discharge criteria.
• Demonstrates clinical competence in patient assessment and reassessment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Competency with IV management required.
• Ability to function at a high level in a physically demanding, high-stress environment required.
• Demonstrated ability to work under stressful conditions required.

Work Experience:
