Job summary

KBR’s National Security Solutions team is seeking a Mid Astro Software Engineer in Colorado Springs to develop secure, cloud-based lifecycles and containerized apps using Kubernetes or Docker. You will build CI/CD pipelines, apply GitOps, and strengthen security while enabling scalable, reliable software updates.

The role requires Java with Spring Boot, familiarity with C++/Python in legacy contexts, and collaboration across DoD-aligned teams in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience developing web-based applications.
• 3–5 years of Kubernetes or Docker experience.
• Java and Spring Boot backend development experience.
• Cloud experience in AWS and CI/CD pipelines with GitLab.
• Security-focused DevSecOps mindset and automation parity.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement end-to-end cluster and application lifecycles.
• Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitLab.
• Work across multiple tech stacks and collaborate with distributed teams.
• Apply DevSecOps practices to secure software delivery and deployment.
• Maintain logs and analytics for system monitoring and optimization.
