Job summary

BDO USA in Raleigh is seeking an Assurance intern to apply accounting education and organizational skills while supporting a dynamic client base. You will work side-by-side with experienced team members, gain hands-on experience, and build critical relationships for your career.

Typical duties include participating in on-the-job training with GAAP/GAAS, learning BDO audit methodology, supporting staff, communicating with clients, and documenting workpapers using BDO templates.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Masters program in Accounting.
• Pursuing a Masters degree in Accounting (preferred).
• Active CPA track or pursuing CPA credentials.

Responsibilities

• Participates in a structured on-the-job training program and become familiar with GAAP and GAAS.
• Becomes familiar with BDO audit methodology to assist with various stages of the audit process.
• Provides various support functions to the audit staff during engagement.
• Communicates with the clients' customers, creditors, banks and related parties concerning audit issues.
• Prepares and documents work in working papers utilizing BDO specific tools and templates.
• Contributes ideas/opinions to the audit teams and listen/respond to other team members’ views.
• Completes one assigned accounting or audit related research project and able to present findings to a panel of Assurance professionals.
• Other duties as required
