Job summary

BDO USA, LLP is seeking an Assurance intern in Madison, WI who will gain hands-on experience by supporting the audit staff, learning GAAP and GAAS, and working with seasoned professionals. You'll develop organizational and problem-solving skills while contributing to client engagements.

Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting is required; pursuing CPA is encouraged. Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint is expected, and strong written and verbal communication will help you thrive

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting (required).
• Pursuing a Master's in Accounting (preferred).
• Leadership experience (preferred).
• Actively pursuing CPA credentials.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint (required).

Responsibilities

• Participates in a structured on-the-job training program and becomes familiar with GAAP and GAAS.
• Becomes familiar with BDO audit methodology to assist with various stages of the audit process.
• Provides support functions to audit staff during engagements.
• Communicates with clients' customers, creditors, banks and related parties regarding audit issues.
• Prepares and documents work in working papers using BDO templates.
• Contributes ideas to audit teams and responds to input.
• Completes an accounting or audit research project and presents findings to a panel.
• Other duties as required.
