Job summary

BDO is seeking an Assurance Associate for Fall 2027 in San Francisco. The role involves preparing financial statements with disclosures, applying GAAP, documenting internal control testing, and supporting audits and agreed-upon procedures engagements. Travel to client sites is expected as needed.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance or related field (CPA eligible) and have internship experience; proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics required OR Bachelor's degree in other focus area and CPA certification required
• Master's in Accountancy preferred
• Eligible to sit for the CPA exams upon starting employment, required

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements with disclosures and document, validate and test control systems
• Review and agreed-upon procedures engagements as needed
• Travel to meet firm and client needs
• Document and communicate understanding of GAAP, GAAS, and BDO methodology
• Assist in auditing engagements and maintain high professional standards
