Oak Harbor School District's North Whidbey Middle School is seeking an Athletics/Activities/Assistant Coach for girls volleyball to start Nov 30, 2026, with the season running through Jan 29, 2027. The coach will develop fundamental skills, promote sportsmanship, and ensure safety for participants.
The ideal candidate will have coaching experience, WIAA certification, First Aid/CPR, and strong communication with students, parents, and the community.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The season begins onNov. 30, 2026 and concludesJan. 29, 2027. The successful candidate will possess knowledge of volleyball and experience in coaching, demonstrating effective skills, strategies, and techniques and the ability to take a concept/skill from learning through implementation to mastery; have a basic understanding of Gold Medal Squared concepts, be a role model with the skills to build a cohesive team; be a positive motivator and skilled communicator; work well with students, staff, parents, and the community. Individuals in coaching positions are responsible for developing fundamental skills and an understanding of the rules of the sport in participants, modeling and fostering cooperation, sportsmanship, and ethical behavior. Coaches collaborate with the coaching staff to determine the system of play to be used and develop and implement best strategies and methods to carry out the system. They are responsible for maintaining a safe environment for participants, ensuring their eligibility, and monitoring their behavior. performs other related duties as assigned.
