Job summary

Lane College's Academic Affairs department invites applications for a nine-month, full-time Physical Education Instructor. The role includes teaching core and elective kinesiology courses, advising majors, and contributing to curriculum development and assessment.

Familiarity with Blackboard, CAMS, and hybrid/online formats is expected. The ideal candidate holds a PhD in Physical Education, Health Education, Kinesiology, or Exercise Science (master's acceptable), with collegiate teaching

Qualifications

• PhD in Physical Education, Health Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science or the preferred equivalent; a master's degree in the same area is required
• Evidence of successful collegiate teaching experience
• First Aid/CPR/AED Certification and Water Safety Instructor Certification are definite advantages
• Familiarity with Blackboard, CAMS, hybrid/online courses, and ability to utilize innovative modalities for delivering course content
• Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse collegiate community
• Requires some walking, stairs, and light lifting; may involve travel, some nights/weekends

JOB TITLE: Instructor of Physical Education and Recreation

DEPT: Academic Affairs

REPORTS TO: Physical Education Department Chair

JOB TYPE: Full Time

JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE :

The Lane College Physical Education Department seeks a Physical Education Instructor . This is a nine-month faculty position with a maximum teaching load of 12 credit hours. Teaching responsibilities include core and elective classes as well as activity courses. Additional responsibilities include advising, curriculum development, assessment, and service to the college and community. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with Blackboard, CAMS, hybrid/online courses, and the ability to utilize innovative modalities for delivering course content. The instructor will also be responsible for teaching major courses in various formats, advising majors, and assisting in student recruitment and retention efforts. Additionally, the instructor will serve on division and college committees, meet established deadlines, and perform other duties as assigned by the department chair.

QUALIFICATIONS

• PHD. in Physical Education, Health Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science or the preferred equivalent. A master's degree in the same area as listed above is required
• Evidence of successful collegiate teaching experience.
• First Aid/CPR/AED Certification and Water Safety Instructor Certification are definite advantages for considerations.
• The ideal candidate will have experience in hands‑on teaching and familiarity with Blackboard, hybrid/online courses, and the ability to utilize innovative modalities for delivering course content.
• Demonstrated experience or ability to effectively work with a wide range of individuals and constituents in a diverse collegiate community.
• Requires some walking and ability to climb stairs, possibly sitting long periods of time, ability to lift up to 10lbs. 1% of the times and minimum travel. Some nights and weekends may be needed. 1% of the times and minimum travel
