Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center seeks an Assistant Patient Care Manager to oversee daily nursing operations and ensure high-quality patient care. Requires a BSN or ADN with BSN in progress and Florida RN licensure; ACLS and specialty certification are valued for unit-specific roles.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years nursing experience in acute care or ambulatory settings.
• Oncology experience preferred.
• Graduate of state accredited nursing program; BSN required or ADN with BSN in progress.

Summary

The Assistant Patient Care Manageris responsible for the day-to-day supervision of nursing operations, ensuring quality care for patients and their families. Mentors, serves as a resource, and provides support for staff and faculty on clinical nursing issues while meeting the department, nursing, and organization goals. Oversees clinical care performed by assigned nursing staff.

Training/Experience

• a) Minimum three (3) years nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting
• b) Demonstrated leadership experience preferred
• c) Oncology experience preferred

Education

Required: Graduate of state accredited nursing program. B.S.N. OR an Associates Degree with B.S.N. in process to be completed within two (2) years of initial enrollment date.

Preferred: Masters in Nursing

Licensure/Certification

• a) Current Florida RN license
• b) ACLS designation required for BMT, SCU, and Telemetry inpatient units
• c) Certification in area of specialty, required.
• d) Current provider designation in BCLS

Additional Skills

Strong computer skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Advanced nursing skills; IV therapy, intervention with emergencies, teaching skills. Demonstrated competency in in-patient and out-patient best practices including patient care, technology, and processes.
