Job summary

Elite Care Corporation is hiring a full-time Cook for Elite Care at Oatfield Estates in Milwaukie, Oregon. You will plan and prepare meals from scratch to support residents' nutrition and preferences in a warm, home-like kitchen.

Responsibilities include overseeing household meals, following service plans, and ensuring safety, sanitation, and portion control, while enabling resident autonomy and fostering a welcoming kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Experience cooking on a large scale.
• 6 months experience cooking in long-term care preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to pass a food service sanitation course.
• Obtain a food handler's card.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow recipes.
• Familiarity with general kitchen equipment and appliances.
• Experience in food service or restaurant experience required.
• Comfortable standing, stopping, squatting, twisting, and moving frequently.
• Strong working knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety and sanitation practices.

• Maintain unit portions and report when a resident eats less than usual
• Utilize fruits and vegetables grown in the Elite Care gardens whenever possible

• Support residents’ autonomy by allowing residents to do as much for themselves as possible
