Job summary

State of Georgia’s Office of the Attorney General invites applications for the Assistant Attorney General - State Licensing Board. The role supports the Regulated Industries and Professions Division by providing legal advice to boards, representing boards in hearings, and drafting opinions.

Requires a Georgia Bar member with 3–5 years in administrative law or civil litigation and travel willingness. Minimum qualifications include a law degree from an accredited school and bar membership;

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited law school and a Member of the Georgia Bar.
• 3–5 years of experience in administrative law or civil litigation.
• Trial experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Litigates cases: participates in hearings, appearances in administrative, state and federal courts, and drafts pleadings and briefs.
• Provides legal advice and/or representation to clients/agencies and drafts memoranda of advice.
• Conducts legal research on pertinent issues and keeps abreast of developments.
• Drafts formal opinions in response to legal questions.
• Attends client, board, departmental, and division meetings; participates in continuing legal education seminars.
• Travel as required by the position; performs other related duties as assigned.
