The Department of Pediatrics at TTUHSC Amarillo is seeking an academic pediatrician to join a collaborative team dedicated to family-centered care and resident education.

The role includes clinical care, teaching and mentoring residents, and participating in a diverse patient population while upholding evidence-based practice.

This position offers rank and salary commensurate with qualifications in a supportive academic setting.

Qualifikationen

• MD, DO or foreign equivalent degree.
• USMLE Step 3 or in progress of completing an ACGME Accredited Pediatric Residency.
• Board certified, board eligible, or in the process of becoming board eligible in General Pediatrics with the expectation to maintain certification.
• Preferred: Experience with Electronic Health Records.

Aufgaben

• Examines patient, performs a comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data.
• Orders and interprets labs, and diagnostic tests, such as X-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory test results for deviations from normal.
• Prescribes medication. Manages the health/illness status of patients and families over time.
• Instructs and counsels patients, and family members as appropriate, regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
• Provide supervision, mentoring and teaching to residents and students.

Position Description

The Department of Pediatrics at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Amarillo is a tight-knit community of physicians with a big mission to train confident and compassionate pediatricians who deliver evidence-based and family-centered care for a diverse pediatric population in an open learning environment. Our community of pediatricians, both generalists and specialists, provide one-on-one guidance to our residents providing unique educational opportunities for them. The residents receive multiple exposures to procedures and inpatient/outpatient experiences that enhance their clinical acumen.

Rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor and applicable salary are dependent upon candidate’s qualifications and experience.
