Position Overview

Under the supervision of licensed Anesthesia providers, the Anesthesia Technician Assistant assists in physiological monitoring of patients, preparation of drugs, fluids, anesthesia, and equipment related to operative interventions or procedures requiring anesthesia setup. Also, operate and maintain patient care monitors and anesthesia equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

1. High school diploma or GED.
2. 6 months of healthcare experience required.
3. Basic knowledge of anesthesia gas machines.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed anesthesia providers in various clinical settings including OR, OB, Radiology, PACU, ICU, Cath Lab, ER, Endoscopy, Dental suites, Ambulatory Surgery, research labs, and emergency situations.
• Perform setup, operation, and troubleshooting of anesthesia delivery systems, monitors, and ancillary devices.
• Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
• Support preparation and maintenance of patient equipment before, during, and after anesthesia procedures.
• Ensure routine anesthesia equipment and supplies are sterilized, disinfected, stocked, and ordered as needed.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement and risk management activities.
• Assist with invasive monitoring and procedures, including patient preparation and equipment setup.
• Support anesthesia providers with complex cases and emergency responses.
• Maintain detailed technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills for anesthesia systems and devices.

• Provide clear instructions to patients and families regarding treatment.
• Involve family/guardians in patient care and assessment.
