Job summary

Thistle Health is seeking an Associate, Warehouse at our Burlington, NJ facility. You will support inventory, shipping, and receiving functions, moving products to departments and maintaining records to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

The role requires a high school diploma and 2+ years of warehouse receiving experience, preferably in a food production environment. You must be able to work in cold environments and lift up to 50 lbs, using scales, box cutters and hand tools as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 2+ years warehouse receiving experience, preferably in a high-volume food production environment.
• Ability to work in cold environments, including freezers, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
• Proficient with scales, box cutters, and hand tools; GMP manufacturing practices preferred.
• State-designated Food Handlers Certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive, organize, and store materials, maintain stock records, and conduct weekly inventory with FIFO rotation for perishables.
• Pull and prepare materials for production, weigh, label, and package items with accuracy.
• Verify product quality on receipt, document food waste, and notify management of issues; coordinate with QA.
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and related machinery to move and stage materials.
• Communicate with vendors for pickups, returns, and shortages; work with Procurement to resolve supply issues.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations during all inventory activities.
• Partner with supervisors to prioritize tasks, troubleshoot issues, and support operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned in the plant.

About the Role

Warehouse Associates are essential to Thistle's operations, ensuring seamless inventory, shipping, and receiving functions. This role is responsible for delivering products to various departments within the facility, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting the production process with efficiency and precision.

How You'll Make a Difference

• Receive, organize, and store materials accurately, maintaining up-to-date records of movements and stock levels. Conduct weekly inventory assessments and ensure FIFO rotation for perishables.


• Pull and prepare materials for production, monitor ingredient use, pre-batch items, and weigh, label, and package products with complete accuracy.


• Verify product quality upon receipt, document food waste, and notify management of quality concerns. Collaborate with Quality Assurance and management to address issues promptly.


• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move and stage materials.


• Communicate with vendors to manage pickups, returns, and order shortages. Collaborate with Procurement and leadership to resolve supply chain challenges.


• Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations during all inventory activities.


• Partner with supervisors and managers to prioritize tasks, troubleshoot inventory issues and support operational needs.


• Perform other duties as assigned in the plant.

Qualifications: Who You Are

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required, as is a minimum of 2+ years of warehouse receiving experience, preferably in a high-volume food production environment.


• Ability to work in cold environments, including freezers, and perform physically demanding tasks such as standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs for extended periods.


• Proficient in using tools such as scales, box cutters, and hand tools. Familiarity with food product materials and GMP manufacturing practices is preferred.


• Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Capable of managing batch requirements and working under tight deadlines.


• State-designated Food Handlers Certification is required within 30 days of hire.


• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
