Job summary

Pape-Dawson is seeking an Associate Vice President in Orlando to lead the planning, design, and delivery of complex residential land development projects. You will guide multidisciplinary teams across planning, design, permitting, and implementation, while ensuring technical excellence and adherence to company standards.

You will mentor managers and senior staff, drive business development efforts, and maintain strong client and community relationships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state(s) required to support project work.
  • 12+ years of progressive engineering experience with senior-level project leadership and people management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interactions with clients, agencies, and leadership.
  • Ability to work Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage residential land development projects through planning, design, permitting, and implementation.
  • Provide leadership for multidisciplinary teams supporting public and private development projects.
  • Oversee all phases of project delivery from planning through construction or implementation support.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise managers, project leaders, and senior technical staff; support professional development.
  • Review and approve proposals, scopes of work, budgets, and client agreements to align with standards and objectives.
  • Support business development activities including pursuit strategy, proposals, RFQs/RFPs, and client interviews.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, public agencies, industry partners, and community leaders.
  • Ensure consistent application of company design, production, and quality control standards across projects.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, operations, and finance on staffing, resources, and market conditions.
  • Represent the company in professional associations, industry groups, and civic initiatives.
