Job summary

Marion Veterinary Clinic is a full-service veterinary facility that treats both small and large animals and welcomes both urgent treatment cases and patients in need of routine medical or surgical care. Our doctors have years of experience providing high-quality care and compassionate client communication.

We also offer routine and emergency farm calls to the Southern Illinois area and have a parking pad for trailers at our facility, enabling convenient service for clients with livestock.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited institution.
• Appropriate state licensure.
• Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation with staff and clients.
• Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; with assistance over 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Examine and treat companion animals to detect and diagnose disease or injuries.
• Operate diagnostic equipment and collect samples; interpret results.
• Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
• Perform surgery and prescribe medications as needed.
• Provide counsel around pet end-of-life care.
• Maintain patients' medical records.
• Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
