Job summary

Pet Wellness Center in Marion, Illinois, is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join our growing team. Our modern, full-service facility provides preventive care, diagnostics, surgery, urgent care, rehabilitation, and more under one roof.

You will join a compassionate, experienced team and mentor newer graduates while advancing your clinical skills. Illinois DVM/VMD and licensure eligibility are required; DEA/BNDD eligibility is also expected.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited program.
• Appropriate state licensure to practice in Illinois.
• DEA/BNDD eligibility is required or possible.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional and courteous presentation with staff and clients.
• Ability to lift patients and equipment up to 25 pounds; assist with heavier tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Examine and treat companion animals to diagnose disease or injury.
• Operate diagnostic equipment and interpret results.
• Advise owners on preventive care and treatment options.
• Perform surgery and prescribe medications as needed.
• Provide guidance around end-of-life care.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and regulations.
