Job summary

Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. is seeking a licensed veterinarian to join our Vetco Total Care hospital.

You will provide high‑quality patient care, perform routine and complex surgeries, and contribute to dental procedures while coordinating care with referral partners. Candidates must hold a DVM/VMD from an AVMA‑accredited school, active state licensure, and a DEA license with veterinary experience in anesthesia and patient management.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
• Active licensure in the state where the hospital is located or ability to obtain by start date.
• Current DEA license and Controlled Substance license (if applicable).
• USDA Category I accreditation or completion within two months of hire date.
• Comfort with anesthesia and routine surgeries (canine/feline spays, neuters, mass removals, dentals).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; compassionate and professional demeanor.
• Must be a team player willing to learn and adapt.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent patient care with examinations, diagnoses, and preventive care.
• Perform routine and complex surgeries including spays/neuters and mass removals.
• Perform dental procedures including examinations, radiographs, extractions.
• Develop treatment plans for day hospitalization and coordinate with referral hospitals.
• Participate in rounds and share knowledge to improve care and communication.
