Job summary

Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. seeks a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine for our Vetco Total Care hospital to deliver quality care for companion animals and support pet owners.

Diagnose and treat patients, develop plans, perform routine surgeries and anesthesia, and document in the medical record per SOPs.

Requirements: AVMA‑accredited DVM, active state license, DEA license, USDA accreditation; strong communication, compassion and teamwork. Petco offers a supportive environment and benefits.

Qualifications

• DVM degree from AVMA‑accredited school.
• Active veterinary license in the state of employment.
• Current DEA license.
• Current USDA accreditation or completion within two months of hire date.
• Experience with anesthesia and routine surgeries preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat patients, develop treatment plans.
• Perform routine surgeries and anesthesia.
• Document findings and treatments in the medical record per SOPs.
• Coordinate with referral hospitals for continuity of care.
• Participate in rounds and support staff through knowledge sharing.
