Job Description / Overview

The Associate Veterinarian plays a vital role in caring for patients by providing high-quality medical, surgical, and dental services. They support and guide our medical team and may participate in leadership and management activities, such as reviewing practice metrics, business growth, team development, fostering a positive workplace, and marketing efforts alongside Partner Doctors and Pod Owners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Live and exemplify PetVet365’s Purpose, Mission, and Vision.
  • Provide compassionate care to patients and clients following Fear Free principles.
  • Perform medical, surgical, and dental procedures.
  • Interpret lab results, radiographs, EKGs, and prescribe medications.
  • Update client records promptly and accurately.
  • Engage in ongoing medical education.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and present treatment options.
  • Promote a client-centered environment.
  • Develop new programs and processes to meet changing client needs.
  • Supervise veterinary technicians, assessing skills and supporting their growth.
  • Deliver in-house medical training to the team.
  • Work towards practice productivity standards.
  • Review key performance indicators with Partner Doctors and Pod Owners and implement changes.
  • Collaborate on business development and growth strategies.
  • Participate in community outreach, veterinary activities, and social media marketing.
  • Motivate staff, maintain morale, and uphold core values and standards.
  • Foster teamwork and a cooperative working environment.
  • Maintain positive relationships with staff and promote continuous quality improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Professional Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree required in current state.
  • Experience as a D.V.M. is desirable but not required.
  • Fear Free Certification required (training and certification provided).
  • Ability to lift 40+ pounds.
  • Ability to stand for 8+ hours.

  • Basic computer and record-keeping skills.
