Job description

About the Job:
Are you ready to escape cookie-cutter medicine and corporate oversight? At Pet Veterinary Clinic, we’re an independently owned and recently purchased practice that's rewriting the rulebook on what veterinary care — and veterinary careers — can look like.

We’re building something special here. Our doctors have a voice, mentorship is real, and collaboration isn't just a value — it’s how we work. Whether you’re a new grad or a seasoned pro, this is a place to grow, thrive, and help shape the future of a progressive, patient-centered clinic.

Why You'll Love Working Here:

  • No corporate ownership. No production quotas. No red tape.
  • Your voice matters — you’ll be involved in decisions that shape the clinic.
  • We work as a team to deliver individualized care, not one-size-fits-all plans.
  • Recently purchased practice undergoing smart, strategic updates
  • Fear Free Certification for all staff is a current goal
  • Full clinic renovation planned over the next 3–5 years

What You’ll Be Working With:

  • Digital radiography
  • Ultrasound
  • Complete IDEXX laboratory suite, including the new InVue Cytology Reader
  • A skilled support team with years of experience

Responsibilities:

As a veterinarian at Pet Veterinary Clinic, your daily duties will include:

  • Performing wellness and preventative care exams
  • Diagnosing and treating sick and injured pets
  • Managing urgent and same-day care appointments
  • Interpreting diagnostic results (bloodwork, imaging, cytology, etc.)
  • Performing routine surgeries (spays, neuters, mass removals, etc.)
  • Performing dental procedures and interpreting dental radiographs
  • Utilizing ultrasound and digital radiography in clinical decision-making
  • Prescribing medications and treatment plans with clarity and compassion
  • Communicating effectively with clients and team members
  • Collaborating with fellow veterinarians and staff to provide high-quality care

Compensation Options:

We offer flexible pay models to suit your style:

  • Hourly
  • Production-based
  • ProSal

This position is open to full-time or part-time veterinarians.

We’re Looking For:

  • A veterinarian currently licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the state of Michigan
  • Someone who values collaboration, compassion, and modern medicine
  • A professional who wants to be part of building something great

Benefits:

We offer all the benefits you’d expect — and then some — including health insurance, paid vacation, sick time, continuing education support, retirement plans with employer match, uniform stipends, and access to an employee assistance program. We also provide generous veterinary care discounts and cover your licensing, DEA, and professional membership fees. Bonus opportunities and a childcare stipend are available as well.

Let’s Build Something Great — Together

If you’re looking for a practice where you’re more than just a number — where you can grow, lead, and be part of a team that truly cares — we’d love to talk.

Apply today and help shape the future of Pet Veterinary Clinic.
