Associate - US Data Operations
About the Role
The Data Steward is responsible for managing data quality within CRM and MDM, including routine reporting, data standardisation, cleansing, de‑duplication, and enforcing data quality standards and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Manually update attributes of Alexion managed records to improve core data, including reaching out to users to obtain proof and updating provider affiliation information via DCR.
- Manage Customer Data Change Requests.
- Ensure timeliness and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Ensure quality by applying business and compliance rules.
- Conduct ad‑hoc data analysis and produce data extracts.
- Make required phone calls and emails to requesters for informational updates.
- Apply new verified data elements to core database records and ensure they are not duplications of existing data.
- Accurately list newly applied data elements to the core database records.
- Remove incorrect data elements and database records from core databases.
- Document actions taken and required notation.
- Audit the data quality of peers (other Data Stewards).
- Coordinate via Service Requests for tasks required in MDM and CRM to be performed by IT teams.
- Maintain alignment between CRM and MDM in customer data; monitor the flow of data between MDM, CRM and other databases for accuracy and quality.
- Process GDPR related requests such as opt‑outs from Open Data and Alexion.
- Enter and validate accounts, professionals and other client information, considering CRM transactions (calls, consent, event attendance).
- Report progress to the direct line manager.
- Develop, implement, and maintain data quality processes, training and reference materials.
- Follow data quality rules and processes to remove duplicate data, cleanse inaccurate data, standardise data entries and schedule data analysis reports.
- Perform daily CRM/MDM maintenance and project‑based tasks, including resolving data issues and running data quality searches, taking additional external research steps as needed.
- Understand the current state of data providers and how data is entered into the CRM/MDM by various user profiles and application interfaces.
- Plan priority improvement areas and select tools to support data quality programs, develop a cadence of regular database maintenance, and assist in automating recurring data quality tasks.
- Streamline and standardise dimensions needed for reporting and analysis.
Essential Skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of databases and database concepts, SQL, analytical tools.
- Familiarity with MS Office tools – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Document processes and adhere to standard operating procedures and processes.
- Basic project management skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects/requests simultaneously.
- Teamwork and collaboration ensuring compliance.
- Basic to limited exposure to issue/ticket management and tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, ServiceNow).
Desirable Skills
- Exposure to MDM tools and systems (Informatica, Veeva).
- Familiarity with tools such as Qlik, PowerBI, Snowflake.
- Industry data knowledge – OneKey, Veeva Open Data, Definitive Health Care data, payer data, etc.
