South Shore Insurance Underwriters (SSIU) seeks an Associate Underwriter to support the Personal Lines team with submission reviews, quoting, policy processing, inspections, and agent service. This role reports to the Underwriting Team Lead and offers training within established guidelines.
You’ll handle HO6 submissions, wind deductible buyback quotes, renewals and endorsements, while maintaining accurate records and delivering responsive service to agents in a hybrid work environment.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid or remote opportunities available, subject to location and role requirements.
Schedule: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Central Time
Anticipated Starting Base Salary: Based on relevant experience, demonstrated skills, and internal equity.
Travel: Occasional agency visits and team activities, approximately 2–3 times per year. Overnight travel may be required.

Reporting to the Underwriting Team Lead, you’ll work within established guidelines and assigned authority while receiving ongoing training and coaching.
Personal lines insurance, agency service, policy processing, or underwriting support experience is preferred. Candidates with transferable customer service or administrative experience who demonstrate strong accuracy, judgment, and learning ability are also encouraged to apply.
