Job summary

Arch Insurance Group Inc. in New York is seeking an Associate Underwriter for its Early Career Program. This one-year training track provides on-the-job experience across underwriting, with rotations and certifications to position you for advancement.

The role begins in early 2027 with a hybrid work arrangement (3 days onsite, 2 days remote). Base salary is 70,000–75,000 USD with comprehensive benefits and incentive opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Insurance & Risk Management, Business, Liberal Arts, Communications, Psychology, Finance, or relevant degree.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Exemplary oral and written communication skills.
• Analytical, with keen ability to think through issues.
• Proactive; able to organize and prioritize to meet multiple demands and commitments.
• Strong work ethic; team player; exhibits leadership potential.

Responsibilities

• Marketing Arch products and services to wholesale and retail brokers.
• Underwriting and pricing products, including: financial analysis, exposure analysis, policy contract review and rating, claims review.
• Binding new and renewal accounts according to our underwriting philosophy and strategy.
• Servicing our brokers and customers.
