Position Purpose

Under supervision, support the underwriting process from application to post-binding activity. Interact with internal team members and broker customers to support underwriting efficiently and accurately. Learn, shadow, and train in underwriting through various projects. Become proficient in underwriting platforms and processes. Use judgment to ensure consistency across quotes, binders, and policies. Identify data inconsistencies and work with underwriters to resolve them. Study for and complete relevant insurance examinations. Attend training and work towards progressing to quote and bind under supervision.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Support the entire underwriting process from start to finish.
• Review submissions for viability.
• Assess RMS Modeling results for opportunity and accuracy.
• Provide quotes for new business or renewals as authorized.
• Complete renewal reviews.
• Review inspection reports and financial data for issues or recommendations.
• Process endorsements and approve for distribution.
• Handle worksheet processes including underwriting and rating worksheets.
• Assist in special projects and other duties as needed.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in insurance, finance, risk management, business, or related field.
• 0+ years of related experience or equivalent education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies

• Analytical skills for underwriting solutions.
• Effective communication of findings and recommendations.
• Proficiency in data analysis software.
• Understanding of risk operations and account analysis.
• Participation in ongoing underwriting education.
