Job summary

Amwins is seeking an Associate Underwriter for an in-office role based in Dothan or Birmingham, Alabama. The position offers flexibility to sit in either office and requires 1+ year of insurance experience along with a Property & Casualty license or the ability to obtain it within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Property & Casualty Insurance License, or ability to obtain within 90 days (cost reimbursed and study support)
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and customer-service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Review submission information to issue new or renewal quotes.
• Rate and prepare new or renewal quotes as directed by Underwriter.
• Review and handle inspection recommendations and discrepancies.
• Monitor reports for consistency.
• Assist in policy issuance and endorsement processing, including audits.
• Assist in accounting procedures such as invoicing.
• Data entry into multiple internet-based systems.

Join our Amwins Access team as an Associate Underwriter!

This is a full-time, in-office role with flexibility to sit in either our Dothan, AL or Birmingham, AL office.

Each Associate Underwriter provides vital team functions:

• Review submission information required to issue new or renewal quotes
• Rate and prepare new or renewal quotes as directed by Underwriter
• Review and handle inspection recommendations and discrepancies
• Monitor various reports for consistency
• Potential for policy issuance and endorsement processing, including audits
• Assist in accounting procedures such as invoicing
• Data entry into multiple internet based systems

We are looking for people with:

• 1 or more years of prior insurance experience
• Property & Casualty Insurance License, or ability to obtain within 90 days, cost reimbursed and study support provided by Amwins
• Eagerness to learn and grow as a team
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, organization, professionalism and customer-service mentality
• Microsoft Office proficiency with an emphasis in Excel spreadsheets
