Job summary

Amwins in Alabama is seeking an Associate Underwriter for an in-office role in either Dothan or Birmingham. You will review submission information, rate and prepare new or renewal quotes, and support underwriters.

You will handle inspection responsibilities, monitor reports for consistency, and assist with invoicing and data entry in multiple systems. The position offers a salary and annual bonus potential, plus a broad benefits package.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of insurance experience
• P&C license or ability to obtain within 90 days (cost reimbursed)
• Eagerness to learn and grow as a team
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, professionalism and customer-service mindset
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with focus on Excel

Responsibilities

• Review submission information required to issue new or renewal quotes

• Potential for policy issuance and endorsement processing, including audits

This is a full-time, in-office role with flexibility to sit in either our Dothan, AL or Birmingham, AL office.

Each Associate Underwriter provides vital team functions:

• Review submission information required to issue new or renewal quotes
• Rate and prepare new or renewal quotes as directed by Underwriter
• Review and handle inspection recommendations and discrepancies
• Monitor various reports for consistency
• Potential for policy issuance and endorsement processing, including audits
• Assist in accounting procedures such as invoicing
• Data entry into multiple internet based systems

We are looking for people with:

• 1 or more years of prior insurance experience
• Property & Casualty Insurance License, or ability to obtain within 90 days, cost reimbursed and study support provided by Amwins
• Eagerness to learn and grow as a team
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, organization, professionalism and customer-service mentality
• Microsoft Office proficiency with an emphasis in Excel spreadsheets
