Kinsale Insurance Company in Richmond, VA invites new graduates and career changers to launch an underwriting career with a fast-paced E&S insurer. As an Associate Underwriter, you’ll learn through hands-on training, work with seasoned professionals, and develop skills in risk assessment, data analysis, and client communication.

You’ll analyze submissions, collaborate on account strategies, classify risks, and contribute to product development while leveraging AI tools and advanced Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Word, and data-driven decision-making tools.
• A team-oriented, entrepreneurial mindset with curiosity and initiative.
• Prior experience or internships demonstrating sound judgment, quantitative ability, and growth potential.
• Aptitude for leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity and decision-making.
• Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs) and negotiation experience are a plus.

About the Role

As an Associate Underwriter, you’ll start on the ground floor of an exciting, analytical, and fast-paced profession.
