Job summary

Amwins Program Underwriters seeks an Associate Underwriter in Anaheim, CA for a hybrid role after in-office training. You will prepare information for underwriting, rate quotes, and coordinate with brokers to move quotes toward binding while monitoring data quality.

Ideal candidates bring a Risk Management and Insurance degree, 2+ years in insurance, strong Excel, and excellent written and verbal communication. The role offers growth and broad benefits.

Qualifications

• Risk Management and Insurance degree or related degree from an accredited four-year university.
• 2+ years' experience in insurance.
• Strong desire for a career in insurance underwriting.
• Excellent computer skills including typing proficiency and MS Office with emphasis on Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Innate organizational skills and personal responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Prepare information needed to underwrite new and renewal business.
• Rate new or renewal quotes as directed by Underwriter.
• Communicate with underwriters and broker clients to facilitate rate, quote and bind processes.
• Monitor reports for consistency.
• Assist in policy issuance and endorsement processing, including audits.
• Support accounting procedures such as invoicing.
• Data entry into multiple internet-based systems.

This is a hybrid position post completion of in-office training at our Anaheim, CA location.

Each Underwriting Associate provides vital team functions:

• Preparing information needed to underwrite new and renewal business
• Rate new or renewal quotes as directed by Underwriter
• Communicate with underwriters and broker clients to facilitate the rate, quote and bind processes

We are looking for people with:

• individuals with 2+ years' experience in insurance
• Strong desire for a career in insurance underwriting
• Excellent computer skills including typing proficiency, Microsoft Office proficiency with an emphasis in Excel
