Job summary

Discovery Behavioral Health in Thousand Oaks, CA, is seeking an Associate Therapist to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team. You will provide treatment services, conduct therapy sessions, and manage case coordination to support patient safety and progress.

Responsibilities include completing clinical documentation, conducting assessments, facilitating groups, coordinating with utilization review, discharge planning, and collaboration with families and referral sources.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate degree in relevant field is required.
• Completion of state requirements to conduct therapeutic interventions is required.
• Operates under supervision and is not licensed.
• Obtain CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
• Obtain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification within 90 days of hire.
• Obtain ServSafe certification within 90 days of hire.
• Must possess a current driver's license and be in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Complete clinical documentation in a timely manner throughout treatment.
• Establish therapeutic rapport with patients and families/loved ones.
• Facilitate admission assessments and the admission process professionally.
• Participate in weekly treatment team meetings and communicate goals.
• Complete required number of therapy sessions weekly (RTC: 2x individual + 1 family; PHP: 1x ind. + 1 family; IOP: 1 session).
• Facilitate process-oriented and psychoeducation groups 1–2 times daily.
• Sit at a meal or snack at least once per week.
• Facilitate multi-family groups, family program, or family weekend.
• Provide utilization reviews to insurance and obtain authorizations as needed.
• Assess suicidality and safety risk.
• Support clinical team in absence.
• Coordinate with UR and Business for authorization/payment.
• Begin discharge planning on admission and complete discharge session.
