Job summary

Discovery Behavioral Health in Shawnee, KS is hiring an Associate Therapist to join a multidisciplinary team providing treatment under the Discovery Clinical Model. You will lead therapy sessions, facilitate groups, complete clinical assessments, and manage care from admission to discharge.

The role requires a Master’s or Doctorate in a relevant field, supervision until licensed, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate degree in relevant field.
• Completion of state requirements to conduct therapeutic interventions.
• Operates under supervision and is not fully licensed.
• Must possess a current driver's license and be in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a caseload of 5-6 patients in RTC and 10-15 in OP.
• Completes appropriate number of therapy sessions weekly, including family sessions.
• Facilitates process-oriented and psychoeducation groups daily in RTC and multiple times in OP.
• Begins discharge planning on day of admission and completes discharge session.
• Provides utilization reviews to insurance for authorizations as needed.
• Communicates with on-call staff and UR/Business departments as required.
• Ensures timely clinical documentation throughout treatment.
• Establishes therapeutic rapport with patients and families.
• Coordinates admissions, transfers, and continuity of care with providers.
