Job summary

Discovery Behavioral Health is seeking an Associate Therapist to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team in West LA, CA. The role focuses on delivering therapy, ensuring patient safety, and leading psychoeducational groups within the Discovery Clinical Model.

You will manage a caseload of 5–7 patients, conduct individual and family sessions, and participate in treatment planning and discharge processes. Must have a master's or doctoral degree and state-licensing requirements include supervision

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate degree in a relevant field is required.
• Completion of state requirements to conduct therapeutic interventions is required.
• Operates under supervision and is not licensed.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Must possess a current driver's license and be in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure clinical documentation is completed timely throughout treatment, at the time of service.
• Establish therapeutic rapport with patients and families/loved ones.
• Provide expeditious access to care and participate in weekly treatment team meetings with goals.
• Maintain a caseload of 5–7 patients.
• Complete the required number of therapy sessions weekly, including family sessions.
• Facilitate process-oriented and psychoeducation groups daily or weekly.
• Perform utilization reviews to aid in authorizations for initial and ongoing care.
• Be accessible to family members and respond to calls within 4 hours during business hours and within 24 hours otherwise.
• Conduct suicidality assessments and ensure safety of patients.
• Discharge planning begins on admission; complete discharge sessions with coping and resources.
• Provide clinical support for the team in the absence of other members.
• Coordinate with Utilization Review for authorization communications.
• Collaborate with milieu staff to ensure high quality clinical care.
• Assist with other tasks as requested.
