Job summary

Transaera is seeking an Associate Test Engineer in Somerville, MA to support day-to-day operation of custom test rigs powering our R&D program. This entry-level role involves operating multiple test systems, improving reliability, analyzing performance data, and presenting findings to the engineering team.

Candidates should have hands-on experimentation experience, problem-solving ability, and the capacity to work independently.

Qualifications

• BS in a relevant field; hands-on experimentation experience preferred.
• Experience operating custom or instrumented test setups in a lab, co-op, internship, or project team.
• Ability to carry experiments from design through execution and analyze own data (Python, MATLAB, or Excel).
• Strong attention to detail in record-keeping and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Operate custom test rigs, including sample prep, test execution, teardown, and reporting.
• Improve rig reliability, calibration, throughput, and data collection; automate measurements where practical.
• Analyze test data, identify trends and anomalies; present conclusions to engineering team.
