Job Summary and Responsibilities

We seek an Associate Telecommunications Engineer with a solid foundation in routing, switching protocols, and network troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will diagnose complex network issues, learn new challenges, and adapt accordingly. Responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshoot advanced routing and switching protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, MPLS)
  • Analyze network design and identify issues using deductive reasoning
  • Address complex network problems with tailored troubleshooting techniques
  • Assist in network design, configuration, and implementation
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on network infrastructure projects
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations and procedures
  • Participate in network optimization and performance improvement
  • Work with Siemens switches and routers under guidance
  • Contribute to process improvements in network management
Qualifications

Candidates should have:

  • 3+ years in network engineering, with WAN and LAN experience
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with SONET, MPLS, and IEC-61850 networks (preferred)
  • Experience in network automation and electric utility systems
  • Proficiency with Siemens switches and routers
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards like NERC CIP and NIST
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are a plus
  • Experience in electric utility environments is preferred
Position Requirements

Must be able to interpret technical documents, solve practical problems, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Ability to work independently and in teams in a dynamic environment is essential.
