GENERAL FUNCTION

The Associate Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining equipment in the surface or finish portions of lab production.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

1. Perform tasks related to machine functions, including interpreting Rx work tickets and operating equipment according to procedures.
2. Perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, advising supervisors as needed.
3. Tasks include lens washing, tool replacement, equipment setup, and cleanup.
4. Prepare solutions and slurry mixtures for lens production, ensuring supplies are available.
5. Calibrate equipment daily and weekly as directed.
6. Communicate effectively across the lab to ensure understanding and proper application of policies.
7. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
8. Follow all safety and confidentiality policies.
9. Assist colleagues to meet deadlines and maintain workload balance.
10. Provide training and guidance to less experienced staff.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

This role involves exposure to hazardous substances requiring safety training.

Basic Qualifications

3. Basic math skills.
4. Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
