Job summary

The role focuses on pattern and tech pack management, live-fitting supervision, and daily communication with overseas factories to ensure consistent fit and production standards. Strong CAD skills and fabric knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

Job description

We are looking for a proactive Associate Technical Designer to join our technical design team across all Women’s categories—including Wovens, Cut & Sew Knits, Sweaters, Outerwear, Pants, Denim, and Swimwear. In this role, you will work closely with senior team members to evaluate garment construction, execute pattern/spec corrections, conduct live fittings under supervision, and communicate directly with overseas factories to ensure fit consistency and production quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Fit Session Execution (Under Supervision): Participate fittings on live fit models under the direction and supervision of Senior Technical Designers. Analyze drape, balance, construction, and stretch/fabric recovery across multi-category styles.
• Tech Pack & Spec Updates: Update and maintain complete tech packs, measurement charts, BOMs, and grade rules across all size ranges.
• Factory Fit Comments: Formulate clear, actionable fit comment packages with annotated photos and pattern correction diagrams; send daily correspondence to overseas vendors and factories.
• Pattern & Construction Analysis: Partner with senior team members to review pattern corrections, spec tolerances, and construction details from initial tech pack handoff through bulk production.
• Sample Approvals: Evaluate pre-production (PP) samples, and TOP samples for workmanship, measurements, and specs; log and issue approvals under supervision.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Technical Design, Patternmaking, Apparel Production, or Fashion Design.
• Experience: 2–5 years of technical design experience in Women’s apparel across multi-category product lines (exposure to Denim or Swimwear is a plus).
• Skills:
• Solid understanding of garment construction, pattern adjustments, spec grading, and fabric performance (including denim washes and high-stretch swimwear fabrics).
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong technical eye for detail and eagerness to learn fit execution under senior mentorship.
• Clear and effective communication skills for daily overseas vendor correspondence.

Salary Range: $70,000-80,000
