Location: Green Meadows Intermediate School, Frankfort, IN

Reports To: Principal

Employment Type: Full-Time, School Year

Position Summary

Green Meadows Intermediate School is seeking a dependable and flexible Permanent Building-Level Substitute Teacher to support instruction in grades 3-5. This position plays a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning by providing classroom coverage for teacher absences, including planned and unplanned leave. The ideal candidate is adaptable, positive, and ready to engage with students and staff daily as a consistent member of the school community.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality instruction across a variety of subjects and grade levels (3-5), following lesson plans provided by classroom teachers.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment.
• Communicate with teachers and school staff to ensure smooth transitions and support for students.
• Manage student behavior effectively and in alignment with school policies.
• Supervise students in various settings, including classrooms, hallways, lunch, recess, or special events as needed.
• Support school-wide initiatives and assist with other duties as assigned when not covering a classroom.
• Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, and reliability as a full-time member of the school community.
  
  

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of or eligibility for an Indiana substitute teaching permit.
• Ability to follow lesson plans, manage a classroom, and communicate clearly with students and staff.

• Bachelor's degree or current enrollment in a teacher preparation program.
