The Associate Teacher at Imagine Preschool supports Lead Teachers in developing and delivering developmentally, culturally, and individually appropriate preschool curricula within Imagine Child Care learning environments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement daily routines, schedules, and learning experiences in classrooms.
- Provide guidance to teacher assistants for curriculum implementation.
- Develop positive relationships with colleagues, families, and children.
- Use evidence-based practices to foster positive relationships and supportive learning environments, enhancing children's social/emotional, language, physical, and cognitive skills.
- Encourage participation of CCRI students in classrooms by building positive relationships.
- Support respectful collegial relationships and maintain confidentiality.
- Use developmentally appropriate assessment tools to inform curriculum and guide children’s learning.
- Collaborate with educational staff to provide high-quality curriculum based on children’s development, interests, and assessments.
- Support inclusion by modifying curricula and collaborating with specialists as needed.
- Welcome community providers during observations.
- Treat children and families with respect.
- Maintain active involvement in professional organizations.
- Complete reports, evaluations, and incident reports as required.
- Follow infection control protocols.
- Transport children safely in Center vehicles, adhering to traffic laws and safety procedures.
- Address team issues constructively and accept supervision and feedback.
- Attend trainings, conferences, and participate in inservice programs.
- Perform CACFP duties, including meal organization, serving, and monitoring.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development with at least three months of supervised teaching experience in a licensed early childhood program, preferred.
- Alternatively, a high school diploma or equivalence, a CDA credential, and 15 college credits in ECE or Child Development, with three months supervised teaching experience.
- Or a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a related field with two courses in child development or early childhood education and at least one year supervised teaching experience.
- Valid driver’s license and insured auto required.
