Job summary

North Coast Childrens Service is seeking an associate teacher to assist with co-teaching in the classroom under teacher supervision. The role includes supervision of all children, developing and implementing activities, and supporting other staff and volunteers.

Non-exempt position with required ECE coursework and experience. Additional duties include evaluating the program and children, and helping maintain facilities to ensure health and safety in the program.

Qualifications

• 12 units of Early Childhood Education including core courses: child growth & development, family and community, program/curriculum.
• 1–2 years working with young children in a group setting is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all children in the classroom.

Job description

Under the supervision of the teacher, the associate teacher is responsible for co-teaching in the classroom including: the supervision of all children, developing and implementing classroom activities, cooperatively working with and supporting other classroom staff and volunteers, helping with evaluation of the program and children, and assisting with the general maintenance of program facilities to insure the health and safety of the children of the program. Additional duties include supporting the teacher in family services work.

This is a non-exempt position.
