Job summary

North Coast Childrens Service is seeking an associate teacher to assist with co-teaching in the classroom under teacher supervision. The role includes supervision of all children, developing and implementing activities, and supporting other staff and volunteers.

Non-exempt position with required ECE coursework and experience. Additional duties include evaluating the program and children, and helping maintain facilities to ensure health and safety in the program.

Qualifications

• 12 units of Early Childhood Education including core courses: child growth & development, family and community, program/curriculum.
• 1–2 years working with young children in a group setting is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all children in the classroom.
• Develop and implement classroom activities.
• Cooperatively work with and support other staff and volunteers.
• Assist with evaluation of the program and children.
• Assist with general maintenance of program facilities to ensure health and safety.
