Job summary

Oneida Innovations Group is seeking an Associate Systems Engineer to support stability, security, and performance of cloud and on‑prem infrastructure. You will work with senior engineers to implement, monitor, and troubleshoot infrastructure across Azure and AWS, plus on‑premises solutions.

You’ll contribute to documentation, testing, automation, and knowledge growth while collaborating with IT, Security, and Networking teams to deliver reliable, scalable systems.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in CS/IT or related field with 2+ years in systems, infrastructure, or cloud engineering.
• Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365, VMware) desirable.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies including Microsoft Azure, AWS, or comparable platforms.
• Working knowledge of cloud compute, storage, networking, identity, monitoring, backup.
• Windows Server, Linux, virtualization, and hybrid infrastructure knowledge.
• Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and MFA familiarity.
• Troubleshoot across cloud, server, identity, storage, virtualization, app, and network layers.
• PowerShell or other scripting/automation experience.
• Security and compliance basics including access control, patching, logging, and encryption.
• Backup, recovery, monitoring, and alerting familiarity.
• Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, AWS CloudWatch, ITSM familiarity.
• Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and SQL Server knowledge desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supports cloud and on-premises infrastructure to deliver reliable solutions.
• Assists with design, deployment, and support under guidance of senior engineers.
• Participates in evaluation of cloud services, systems, designs, and technologies.
• Provides technical support for incidents and service requests escalated to Systems Engineering.
• Develops and maintains technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborates with IT, Security, Applications, Networking, and business teams to deliver solutions.
• Keeps cloud services, OS, software, firmware, and hardware current and patched.
• Monitors infrastructure availability, performance, capacity, and reliability.
• Supports security, governance, compliance, identity, access, and configuration standards.
• Identifies opportunities to automate routine admin using PowerShell and similar tools.
• Creates and updates architecture diagrams, system records, build docs, and implementation plans.
• Supports backup, recovery, high-availability, and DR processes and testing.
• Works with stakeholders and engineers to resolve infrastructure issues.
• Assists with capacity data, lifecycle reviews, licensing, inventory, and research.
• Verifies compatibility across cloud and on-premises systems.
• Performs testing, change validation, and post-change verification.
• Monitors system performance and provides operational and capacity information.
• Collaborates with vendors to resolve issues and gather technical information.
• Participates in knowledge transfer and IT staff training.
