Work Arrangement: Hybrid, with required onsite attendance
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an Associate Systems Analyst to provide technical support for enterprise applications used by Information Technology and Corporate Services teams. This position will support a diverse application portfolio spanning Windows and Linux environments.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience supporting firewall-protected applications, Windows/IIS servers, batch data loads, application interfaces, and vendor software installations and upgrades. The Associate Systems Analyst will participate in systems analysis, solution design, application testing, change management, troubleshooting, and ongoing production support.
This is a hybrid position requiring candidates to live within a reasonable commuting distance of Richmond, Virginia. Fully remote candidates will not be considered.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical and operational support for enterprise applications and supporting infrastructure.
- Support applications deployed within firewall-protected and security-controlled environments.
- Perform systems analysis across all phases of the application lifecycle.
- Conduct system design and business information-flow studies.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and recommend appropriate platforms, workstations, security devices, and communication protocols.
- Develop technical specifications, system use cases, process flows, scenarios, and wireframes.
- Support applications and infrastructure operating in Windows and Red Hat Linux environments.
- Install, configure, maintain, patch, and upgrade third‑party vendor products in Windows and Linux environments.
- Support Windows and Internet Information Services servers.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and support batch data loads and application interfaces.
- Perform unit, system, regression, and integration testing.
- Validate application changes and upgrades before production deployment.
- Identify, document, track, and manage application defects through remediation and retesting.
- Troubleshoot application, server, database, interface, file‑transfer, and connectivity issues.
- Work across multiple platforms and manage assignments for several concurrent projects.
- Develop and maintain accurate technical documentation, test results, defect logs, and support procedures.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, infrastructure teams, developers, database administrators, security teams, and external vendors.
- Follow established security and privacy procedures when handling personally identifiable, company‑sensitive, or credit‑sensitive information.
- Participate in application change management and production support activities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Services, or a related technical discipline.
- At least two years of experience in application systems analysis or enterprise application support.
- At least two years of experience developing conceptual and detailed designs for application software.
- At least two years of experience with technical analysis, technical documentation, use cases, application change management, and application testing.
- Hands‑on experience supporting applications operating within firewall‑protected environments.
- At least two years of experience supporting Windows and IIS servers.
- At least two years of experience supporting batch data loads and application interfaces.
- At least two years of experience installing and upgrading vendor products in Windows and Linux environments.
- Experience working with several of the following technologies:
- Windows Server and IIS
- Citrix
- Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases
- WebLogic
- Microsoft Access
- Active Directory
- FTP and SFTP
- XML and HTML
- Web services
- Distributed computing environments
- Experience performing unit, system, integration, and regression testing.
- Experience maintaining defect logs and coordinating remediation and retesting.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment and commute to the Richmond, Virginia worksite as required.
- Ability to appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience supporting applications in a large‑scale enterprise IT environment.
- Experience supporting a broad portfolio of business‑critical applications.
- Familiarity with utility, energy, corporate services, or other highly regulated environments.
- Experience coordinating technical activities across multidisciplinary teams and external vendors.
- Understanding of enterprise security, access controls, network communication protocols, and change‑management practices.
