Job summary

FCC Behavioral Health in West Plains, MO seeks an Associate Substance Use Disorders Counselor to provide counseling to individuals with a substance use disorder in residential and/or outpatient settings. You will guide treatment progress through each phase of the program.

Role requires a High School diploma or HiSet and the ability to obtain MAADC I within 3 months, with progression to MAADC II by year two and CRADC certification by year four.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or HiSet certificate is required.
• Ability to obtain MAADC I credential within the first 3 months of employment.
• Progress through Associate Counselor Career Ladder to MAADC II by end of year two.
• Pass CRADC exam and attain CRADC certification by end of year four.

Responsibilities

• Provide services within the four performance domains: Screening, Assessment & Engagement; Counseling; Treatment Planning, Collaboration & Referral; Professional, Ethical Responsibilities.
• Provide Individual Counseling, Group Counseling, and Group Education as scheduled.
• Advocate for person(s) served at case and community levels.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary treatment team staffing meetings.
• Represent the agency in a caring and professional manner.
• Demonstrate unconditional positive regard towards person(s) served.
• Maintain a solution-focused attitude.
• Adhere to evidence-based practice models and know diagnostic criteria for substance use/mental disorders.
• Communicate information effectively and accurately verbally.
• Ensure program operates within CARF/DMH standards and the agency's strategic plan.
• Abide by program and agency policies; perform other duties as assigned.

Education

High School diploma or HiSet

MAADC I credential (within 3 months)

MAADC II by end of year 2

CRADC certification by end of year 4
