Michels Power, Inc. is seeking an Associate Construction Project Manager – Substation to support planning, coordination, and execution of substation projects nationwide. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and hands-on project control across field and office settings.

The candidate will assist with budgets, schedules, procurement, and reporting while traveling to long-term onsite assignments. Strong communication and a drive to learn are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a construction/engineering or related degree with relevant coursework.
• 0–3 years of experience in substation, electrical, or utility construction preferred.
• Ability to travel and commit to long-term onsite project assignments.
• Proficiency with MS Office; familiarity with cost tracking or estimating software is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated initiative and adaptability; eager to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with policies.
• Assist Project Manager in planning and implementing project tasks.
• Support development and tracking of project performance metrics and budgets.
• Assist with cost tracking, labor tracking, scheduling, and reporting.
• Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, engineers, and utilities.
• Assist with material procurement, submittals, and equipment tracking.
• Support subcontractor management and contract compliance.
• Maintain project documentation including cost reporting and budgeting records.
• Assist with federal/state reporting and agency correspondence.
• Maintain schedules and participate in project coordination meetings.
• Assist with proposal preparation, estimating, and quantity take-offs.
• Provide onsite administrative support during long-term assignments.
• Assist with change management, productivity tracking, and closeout activities.
