Job summary

Michels Power, Inc. seeks an Associate Construction Project Manager – Substation to plan, organize, and implement project management principles for substation builds under supervision.

You will coordinate with field crews, manage safety, schedules, and budgets, and maintain documentation while working on long-term onsite assignments nationwide. Strong communication skills and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 0–3 years of related experience, substation/utility preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record and willingness to travel long-term onsite.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; job cost tracking software a plus.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with safety policies.
• Assist Project Manager in planning, organizing, and implementing project tasks.
• Support development and tracking of project performance metrics, budgets, and cost controls.
• Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, engineers, and utility stakeholders.
• Maintain project documentation including cost reporting, scheduling, and budgeting records.
• Assist with change management, productivity tracking, and project closeout activities.
