Job summary

The Boeing Company in North Charleston, SC is seeking an Associate (Level 2) Structural Analysis Engineer for the 787 Airframe Wing & Empennage Life Cycle Product Team. This on-site role supports the Commercial Airplanes design center with a focus on structural integrity and certification.

You will perform stress analyses using hand methods, FEA and dynamic simulations; review supplier documents; coordinate loads and interfaces; and document test results to verify compliance with CFR Part 25 and

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, or Materials).
At least 2 years of experience in engineering fields.
At least 1 year performing structural analysis.
Experience with classical hand calculation methods.

Responsibilities

Perform stress analysis on Boeing 787 Wing & Empennage using hand, FEA, or dynamic methods.
Review supplier documents for oversight of drawings, analyses, tests, procedures and reports.
Develop and document structural requirements for Wing & Empennage designs.
Coordinate with engineering groups on loads, interfaces, and environment.
Guide design and verify structural integrity throughout the product lifecycle.
Develop test plans, support tests, and analyze results to ensure requirements are met.
Document certification/test results for CFR Part 25 and for customers/regulators.
Support in-service products by investigating failures and improvements.
Collaborate on projects with domestic and international partners/suppliers.
